A Tale of Shoes

As I tried cleaning my room today (tried being the operative word, haha!) I realized that my running shoes have invaded my closet space and displaced all my other footwear. As I was counting, I have 2 AISICS, 1 Adidas, 1 Fila, and 4 Nikes. Who has 8 shoes? Well… other than Patrick Concepcion who buys a new pair every month I think, and my brod who wears out his running shoes so quickly that they only have a life span of 2 months, max.

Looking back, I also realize that my shoes and I have a lot of stories to tell. I remember which pair I was wearing on a particular day, race or event and there is a memory that I can usually recall. From my arsenal of shoes, there is a pair that I bought the night before an international marathon since I left my shoes at home. What was worse was that I was more than in a different region all together. What a thing to forget! There was also a pair that went through hell and back. It braved the the first 10kms of the TNF100 trail of Nasugbu, Batangas. There is also a pair that got to be in a photoshoot for… Sorry, I can’t disclose yet.
