ABOUT

There is not enough public libraries to serve millions of students, currently there are 688 public libraries of all types and there should be more. The lack of facilities is even compounded by the fact that a significant number of these libraries are under-funded, understaffed, poorly equipped, or in bad physical condition forcing it to stop functioning.

There should be a total of 1,851 libraries in all, one for each of the country’s 220 congressional districts, 136 cities, and 1,495 municipalities. To date, the country has 1,163 libraries less than required. This affects 40% of the population or nearly 40 million Filipinos as it unacceptably deprives our children of a resource that could spell a difference for their future.

Realizing the need for children to be aptly exposed to reading materials not readily available for them, the Run To Read Fun Run was designed to raise funds to build and restore libraries for less fortunate communities in various parts of the Philippines. The run will be composed of 4 major distance events; 3KM, 5KM, 10KM, 15KM and a 500-meter dash for kids and their moms or dads

    There is no minimum age requirement. The maximum age is 12 years old.
    The P500 registration fee includes 2 race singlets and 2 race bibs. The race bib with the bar code should be worn by the child.

    hi.
    i tried to register for this run. i was told that i couldn’t choose a singlet color because each color corresponds to a certain event. so if you want to run the 5k, there is a specific color assigned. for the 15k, another color is assigned. etc.
    is this true or can we choose the color of our singlet regardless of the event?

    i inquired at runnr. i wanted to register for the 15k and i asked if i could choose a color. they told me that for the 15k, green was the assigned color. if i wanted a different singlet, i should enter in a different category.

    hi, i registered last week at royal sporting house and paid less 50.00. everything went well except those guys doesn’t know anything about the color of the singlets. anyways, i’ve checked out this site and chose my color. i just hope i’d get the color i picked. then i went to RUNNR this evening to register my friends. again to beat the deadline of registering on or before july 15 to avail of the discounts. unfortunately, the ladies at RUNNR told me that they don’t know anything about the discount and insisted that i pay the amount indicated. i argued that i saw this promo in a newspaper ad. until finally, i was told that the 50 discount will be returned on the day that the singlets will be released. i just hope the organizers would give proper instructions (singlets sizes, colors, promos, etc) to their designated registration sites. ; (

    @Dada Which branch of Royal Sporting House did you register at? Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The P50 discount should be given upon registration, not at the race. Don’t worry ma’am, your receipt should indicate the amount paid and the date of payment. Just present your “receipt”/stub at the registration tent AFTER the race so we can give you your refund.

    FOR EVERYONE’S INFORMATION: RUN4CHANGE conducted a briefing for all the store managers of Royal Sporting House and Reebok and the owners of SecondWind Running Store and All Terra.     hi, me and my officemates are into running and have participated in various runs already, this run have particularly caught our interest since we could bring along our kids as well for your 500m run, however when one of my officemate went to Reebok – Megamall, they were not able to answer her questions so what she did was to ask for registration forms na lng to be submitted later on. I hope you could answer some of our queries, these are as follows:

    a) If we are to register for the 500m dash, do we have to fill-out two forms (1 for the kid and 1 for the parent)?

    ANSWER: You will only need to fill out one form in the name of the child. The child is the registrant and the parent is only an accompanying person. The parent would need to sign the waiver for the child, but please put the name of the parent under the name of the child.

    b) Are we to indicate on the form our preferred color of the singlet since only the size is being asked?

    ANSWER: Just write it on the form and on the monitoring sheet (with the registration center) where you will sign your name, also indicate it there

    c) When and where can we claim the singlets and bib no?

    ANSWER: You can claim the race kits as soon as you register. We have various registration centers all over Metro Manila. Please refer to the poster/registration form. As regards the singlets, they will be made available as by August 1

    d) Do you have a registration site in Royal Sporting House – Alimall, Cubao branch, it was not mentioned in the site but it is indicated in the reg. form?

    ANSWER: No sir, we do not have a registration center there.

    e) Will the discount period be not extended?

    ANSWER: I’m afraid we cannot extend the discount for early bird registration.

    I just registered this morning! Yey! Unfortunately, I thought there’d still be a discount coz during the Runfest, the lady there told me that there’d be a 50peso discount up till Aug. 8. But anyways, it’s all good. They already run out of 5km slots so I had no choice but to register for the 10km! Hope to see you all there on Aug 15! By the way, hope you don’t mind, I copied the picture of the singlets and posted it on my site. If it would be a problem, I’d gladly delete it. Thank you! :)

    I will try to answer everyone’s concerns here. Hopefully I get to address them all. If I missed out on something, please bring it to my attention. :)

    EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION

    The early bird registration is from June to July 16. If you registered within this time, you are entitled to P50 discount. if you were not able to receive the discount, kindly present your receipt on the event date at the Official’s Tent so that we can give you a rebate.

    EARLY BIRD PERKS & PRIVILEGES

    As an early registrant, you will be given priority over the color and size of your singlet. This is still subject to availability of stocks in the different registration sites. We will prioritize as much as possible the choices of the early bird registrants, over those who registered later.

    SINGLET DELIVERY AND DISTRIBUTION

    Singlet delivery is on-going. We have 2 deliveries this week and another next week. Please call up the registration centers to avoid the hassle of going there and not being able to claim. We are doing our best to deliver all the singlets to the different registration centers by Friday so that you may claim them over the weekend.

    SInglet claiming at the registration centers will be until Friday of next week, August 13. After this date, we will be getting all the unclaimed singlets and will be delivering them to Runnr Store at BHS for distribution on Saturday, August 14.

    If there are any unclaimed singlets, they will be distributed on-site on Sunday at the event area.

    OPENING OF MORE SLOTS FOR 5K, 10K and 15K

    We will be opening 250 slots for 5K, 100 slots for 10K and 150 slots for 5K. These will be distributed to the following centers:
    -Reebok Trinoma
    -Reebok Megamall
    -Reebok Festival Mall, Alabang
    -Royal Sporting House Glorietta 4
    -Runnr Store, Bonifacio High Street

    These slots may be reserved upon payment of the registration fees and submission of the registration forms. SINGLETS will be subject to availability for the 500 slots opened.

    Want to ask where i get replace the singlet of my wife? The design print is plain white (hindi tapos ung design)and the size given to her was medium but what she indicated was Small in the registration form. Also, for what i understand is that for the 500m dash both kid and guardian will get a singlet? when can we get the replacement and the singlets for the 500m race? We registered at Runnr last july 18th.

    @Mabs We will be opening 300 slots later today at Royal Sporting House Glorietta 4, starting 3PM today, August 11.

    500m – 60 slots
    3K – 10 slots
    5K – 170 slots
    10K – 60 slots

    These late registrants will no longer get a singlet. Claiming of their race kits will be on Saturday, from 10am-10pm at Runnr Store, Bonifacio High Street.

    Those who will claim on Sunday can start claiming at 3am onwards at the event area.

    Nice to see parent – child pair running the 500m run.
    Where is the result of this event?
    When will you be able to post it?
    Will there a photo gallery of this event where we can possibly some of the photos?
    Sir Eric and the rest of the group pa-advise na lang po if there is such of my inquiries, kung wala then just advise na lang through this site.
