BOTAK Paa-tibayan Takbo 100 Kilometro in partnership with the University of the Philippines, College of Human Kinetics and Run for Change is having the first 100KM Ultra Marathon in Metro Manila this coming June 28, 2009 for the rehabilitation of the UP Track and Field Oval.

The racing event is a first of many kinds for the ultra distances it shall highlight. They are the following– 100KM Solo, 100KM Relay, 50KM Solo. There are also side events that include a 10 Mile and 5 Mile Race. The event will also feature the first Street Mile Race (1 Miler) which shall be done in heats.

Part of its many firsts, the event shall be handled by a new team, different from the other race events done by BOTAK’s Running program in the past. The Organizers will be led by its project director Mr. Ian Alacar and be backed by three race directors, namely Pinoy Ultra Runners Team Principal Mr. Neville Jay Manaois for the Ultra Distances, Mr. Edmund Mangaser of Elite Multi-Sport Resources to handle the 10 Mile and 5 Mile Race and Mr. Ben Alacar of Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Philippin Amateur Track and Field Association (PATAFA) for the Street Mile Race.
