  1. The bloggers went to NB Power Race. They were real runners. Only one went to Urbanathlon. Sad.

  2. Hi “TBR” Nothing sad about it at all :) a lot of newbie runners were there, and they had a good time. Someone even made his 10k debut during the Urbanathlon and was thrilled to have finished the course, in addition to the obstacles.

  3. The bloggers are only a small portion of the running community. There is still a majority out there who run but don’t blog. There is nothing sad about having so many running events held over one weekend. I say the more the merrier!

  4. Btw, the TBR I know would never write anything like that.

  5. Congrats Eric! That looks like an action-packed race :)

  6. Hmmm… I believe that there are no real runners, and no fake runners! As long as you have the will and the passion to run and finish — one has all the right to be called a TRUE RUNNER :O)

Congratulations to Men’s Health, to U.P., to Run For Change Org and to UPsilon for a job well done! U.P. Fight!!!

  7. Hi,

I think many real runners joined urbanathlon too. The yambao sisters were there as well. Not everyone has the luxury, time or money to go to clark. And just cuz the bloggers go to a certain race means its the place that everyone should go to as well.
And how do we define real runners? The winners of the urbanathlon finished in 30mins plus. Im pretty sure they were running…

  8. Hello!

On behalf of the team here at Men’s Health Philippines and Summit Media, I’d like to thank everyone who joined the Men’s Health Urbanathlon last Sunday - it was a success thanks to all of you!

While it’s true that there were 3 other running events that day, it’s nice to see more people getting into running and the healthy lifestyle—and at the same time building a positive sense of community.

  9. Hi Eric. Congrats to the 700+ participants who took part in the Men’s Health event. I mentioned last Monday that it may be good if there was a race in Metro Manila because of the distance to Clark. Happy it turned out well.

Also, thanks again in meeting you and the time last Monday. Your blog is informative along with your insight into running. Take care and will see you in 2009!

  10. Hi Eric! Thanks for the photos! I had a great time. Medyo bitin lang with the obstacles. I’ll definitely join the urabanthlon next year - IF I’m not pregnant yet :) Have a nice day!
