Priorities
I had a dilemma earlier today. I was able to read several cases for my tax midterm later (Aug. 9) but I had not read for transportation and public utilities. It was already 1pm and I had to deliver something for Coach Rio in preparation for the Nike Human Race.
Would I still run at ULTRA or Ateneo? By the time I finished with the things I needed to do, it was already 3pm. I had over a hundred pages to read by 6pm. Should I decide to run, it would take me around an hour and a half, broken down as follows:
15 mins - 2.0km warmup
10 mins - drills
40 mins - 3 sets of 4×200m with 1:30 rest and 400m recovery in between sets
15 mins - core exercises
20 mins - shower and get dressed
1 hour 40 minutes TOTAL
Then add another 20-30 minutes for travel to UP Law.
Had I decided to run either at ULTRA or Ateneo, there was no way that I would be able to read the assigned cases in time for class at 6pm. For once, I had chosen my real priority over my perceived priority… academics over running. Hehe… Seriously, it was a difficult decision to make. The P500 penalty also didn’t make it any easier.
I got to UP at 4:15pm and hurried to the library to get my assigned readings. Luckily, I was able to read all of the cases assigned. Woohoo! Way to go!… but the thought of not being able to run kept coming up in my mind. I was trying to figure out my schedule and was trying to see whether I could still squeeze in my running homework of 3(4×200m).
My class ends at 8pm. ULTRA closes at 9pm. Ateneo closes at 10pm. Ateneo it was. AGAIN, no way I was going to get penalized for not running. Here are my times…

I got out of shape because I always had excuses not to workout or diet or what. I think if I want to achieve my goals, I should not allow myself to give lame excuses. I cannot allow myself to be distracted. I ended up running at around 9:15pm, ended close to 10:30. Had a late dinner. I just arrived home and am now writing this post… I’ve yet to study for tax midterm tom. Wish me luck!

Tomorrow is Sunday. You have class tomorrow? I cannot imagine how you do it. You’re a UP Law student (which means you’re loaded with heaps and heaps of assignments), you train under Coach Rio, and you still find time to blog. Your time management is superb. When I was your age, I only had my job and my boyfriend to deal with but there’s no time left for myself and my family.
Good luck to your midterm exams!

I had an exam yesterday
It really is just willpower and the right motivation. If I want to run, I have to study earlier or study days before… blogging is also my way of releasing stress and weird as it may sound, its something I look forward to
And maybe that’s it… single as of the moment. Haha! So I’m not as preoccupied

Single without girlfriend??? Lucky for you heh heh.. You know what? Blogging is also my way of destressing. Mahal magpapsychoterapy–P1,500 per session! Kaya nga, the more stressed I am, the more I am inspired to write. Kung wala akong post, that means manageable lang ang stress ko hah hah…

Haha, yes… single without girlfriend. Kaya palagi na lang ako tumatakbo. Hehe… still waiting for that perfect running partner
