Reaching 400k
The North Face 100 marked my 400km mark. I’ve been doing getting myself “gifts” everytime I reach 100km, as my incentive being part of the 1,000km club. My first gift was an iPOD shuffle, followed by running shorts, then my TIMEX IronMan Triathlon watch. Now that I’ve reached another 100km, I wonder what I’ll be getting myself.
This was my original wish list which I posted April 14.
WISH LIST (updated July 30, 2008 ):
1.Garmin Forerunner 405(305 will do, but then again, this is a WISH LIST
)
2. iPOD nano (or shuffle)
3. Hydration Fuel Belt
4. Running cap/visor (Nike, Adidas, etc.)
5. Real running shorts (the short shorts… hehe!)
6. Shades/dark glasses
I was supposed to get myself a Nike Pro shirt for my 300km but I decided to defer since my body is still not fit to wear it… I mean, no abs will show, just flab. Haha! Maybe on my 500km mark. I’m thinking of getting that cap or another pair of shorts, unless you can suggest something worthwhile? Coach John was suggesting I try wearing tights to prevent chafing…but the short shorts was hard for me to get used to, I wonder whether I’ll ever get used to wearing tights. It just seems too revealing. Hahaha!
I’ve yet to decide, I’ll probably give myself until I reach the 50km mark before I make a decision.

Nike compression shorts cover your thighs down to just above the knees. There are three-quarter length tights as well, clam-digger style. Or an Amphipod water belt because you are now effectively running half-marathons. Maybe a triathlon shirt instead of Nike Pro, so you can unzip it part of the way near the finish, or go for the full Monty including tri shorts

400km! Congrats. The rain in the morning is slowing me down in my progress. Great rewards you got there. What I had for my 100K and 200K are food trips.
