Serious training…

I have 2 DNFs under my belt and one poor performance. I think I have to rethink my strategy and get serious about training again. My two DNFs are One La Salle run (bandit, haha!) and The North Face 100 (I did 10k instead of 20k… shhhh!). My dismal performance was at TikTakBo wherein I walked the last lap.

Maybe I’m overexerting myself or I am not yet mentally prepared for anything over 10k. One La Salle was 16k (I did 5k), TNF100 was 20k (I did 10k), and TikTakBo was supposedly 18k which turned out to be 14k. It could be that I don’t like doing loops or repeating the same route all over again. It could also be that I let my mind get the better of me. It could also be a lack of training? I’ve been doing speed work but no recovery or long runs… maybe that’s it.

Starting this week, I’m getting serious about my training. I’m penalizing myself P500 for every missed run. Hopefully, that will be enough motivation for me.

  1. anak kong atty., maghunus-dili ka este just train harder and you will get there-the finish line-successfully.trust in your legs and give it a little prayer always-really-it works.

  2. Try mo to run more than 6K or 7K away from your place. Now you’ll be forced to run back in order to get home before your next appointment. Just a thought. :)

  3. Hi Taki! I’m doing 10k later… I’m just letting my headache subside. I’m deadset on running tonight. I have a route in mind na ;)One wherein there is no turning back. Hehe!
