Changing my meal plan
I mentioned in my previous posts that I no longer diet and am just watchful of the portions and the types of food that I eat. In the past few months, I don’t feel as if I’ve lost any weight. Perhaps it is good if I’m on maintenance mode, but I still hope to shed more pounds as well as lose the fat around my midsection.
When I was talking to Taki after the One La Salle run, I mentioned that I stopped losing weight. He said that perhaps I was gaining muscle. It may be possible, but the fact remains, I still have a tummy that continues to bulge, no matter how slight.
So, after thinking about what I’ve been eating lately, I’ve decided to change my meal plan. Well, it’s similar to a diet, but it sounds less taxing. hehe!
I’m planning on lessening my carb intake, and consume more fiber-rich foods. Eating white rice, no matter how small the portion, is out of the question. I’ll also be staying away from Pastas and other foods which are high in carbs. I won’t be eliminating carbohydrates completely, just lessening them, so that I store less and burn more. We still need carbs to convert into energy just to be able to workout properly. We also need carbs for recovery. The only difference is, is it the kind of carbs that are easy to burn or easy to store?
My new meal plan will consist more of fruits and vegetables, less pork and beef (I’ll try to keep away from them as much as I can) and minimize also on sweets. Sometimes, I’m a sucker for chocolates and other pastries.
My target is to lose another 10-15 lbs OR… have a defined mid-section
Coach, if you’re reading this, you now know my goal.

Looking forward to the next run.

Hey Cat! Well, whatever you decide, I’m sure it would be for the best. When you go to Singapore, you’ll have a whole new place to explore as you do your road runs. And for sure, bibisitahin ka namin dun

Hi PR, I seem to have the same problem. I’ve been trying to lose weight since entering my exercise regiment this year. I started running in May and it seems like it takes ages to really lose weight. In fact, I have a hard time breaking 200lbs. although I’ve lost around 7 pounds since May. I’m slowly working on my diet as well — have been able to refrain from eating rice in the evening the last 2 weeks, although somedays, you just can’t help it — some foods are best eaten with rice!! I guess I need to push myself further to break 200 — mukhang kailangan na mag-train for the 10K races rather than just running 5Ks. I still haven’t tried running 1 hour yet — most so far has been 40 minutes. I guess that’s my next goal while managing my diet. Good luck with yours! Looking forward to hearing the results.

Hey Neil! Nakadaming post ka na rin ah. Haha… Where are you taking your pre-law studies?
Basically, it really takes determination. You’ve seen the pictures from before… I made up my mind that I wasn’t going to stay fat. I also miss FastFood but at the end of the day, I remind myself that it is not worth it.
Buti ka pa you have time to do all that (run, gym, judo and swim). And you’re lucky you have abs! I just have an ab. Haha! I’m still in search for the others…
