Have I hit a wall?

There is saying that “runners hit a wall” when they can no longer run after they’ve covered a certain distance. Perhaps this is similar to what people who try to lose weight or gain muscle experience when they say that they’ve reached a plateau and they no longer improve. I fear that I may reached that point in my training or in something like that.

I mean, today was the second time that I could not finish my 5k run. Somewhere in the 1.5km mark, I suddenly feel so heavy and my muscles start to aches. I wonder if this is just psychological or perhaps it is also due to my lack of running lately. It is very frustrating… I mean, after 2k, I give up?

There may be other factors at play… like the time of day. I mean, in both instances, it was after dinner or close to that time that I decided to run. It could also be mental fatigue. Or it could also be the day. They both happened on a Thursday.

I don’t really know. All I know that it is frustrating… I hope this doesn’t affect my performance this weekend. Oh well, I just decided to get myself a massage.
