In preparation for the Champion Run

My preparation for Runnex@25 was intense to say the least. This time around, I think it was a lot lighter compared to last week. It may be lighter or I’m already getting accustomed to the training sessions. These were the things I did to prepare myself.

MONDAY - This was my rest day after Runnex@25. I was told to let my body rest and allow my muscles to recover.

TUESDAY - This was my workout in hell. Hehe! It was on this day that I did the stairs and bleacher run at ULTRA. 10 sets of stairs and 5 sets of bleachers, apart from some drills.

WEDNESDAY - My calf muscles were extremely sore. My thighs were ok, but my calves, extremely tight. I did some core exercises and several sets of push-ups. This was also my “cheat” day with dessert from Max Brenner. At the end of this day of indulgence, I had a full body massage to loosen up my muscles.

THURSDAY - I had a light workout at ULTRA, did fartlek totaling to 6 rounds of the oval and 1 set of 150m and 50m dash to close the day. Oh, and I had another full body massage to loosen my still tight calf muscles.

FRIDAY - I did a tempo run. I logged in 13km, broken into 2km warm-up and 2 laps of 5.5km. Times were 00:35:53 and 00:34:36 for each lap respectively.

SATURDAY - Rest day.

I wonder how I will do for the Champion run. There are things that I am anxious about. I’ve never seen the route and my “mental distance markers” will not be in play, unlike in Runnex@25 or the Fort Bonifacio route. Hopefully, I get to set a new PR again… hopefully. :)
