I have redeemed myself!

I really could not take that I walked a 5km route… pathetic. So I felt the need to redeem myself. As soon as I got home, I slept. When I woke up, I did 1.5km to warm up, did some stretching and drills, then ran my usual 5km route. I left my MP3 player since I didn’t want to be distracted. I made sure that my time should be better than the last and should be lower than 6mins/km. And I DID! My time for 5km was 28:21:28 at a pace of 5.67mins/km or 5 mins 40.2 secs per km. Not bad :) My previous PR for the same route was 26.95mins/km or 26 mins and 57 secs for 4.5km [yeah, I didn't get to finish the 5k]. It feels so good :)

    Musta? Sure, when are you free? Actually, you can just go to ULTRA. They charge P29 for the track oval. A lot of people go there to run, train. On the days that I go, I see several track teams there: Ateneo, UP, CSB, and what I think is a running class.

    My suggestion would be to get a training program (there are those that are available online, c/o Runnersworld)and you can just follow it. There are also others that are available. There are days when you do long runs, tempo runs, intervals/fartleks. You could also ask around for personal trainers/coaches if you want to be more serious about it. [To my other visitors, what do you suggest?]

    What’s your schedule? So that if ever we can run. I do my long runs in the village or when I don’t run at Ultra. Sometimes, kapag ginaganahan, 6 or 7am. Oftentimes around 6 or 7pm. There are also times that I run around 8:30pm na. Minsan mas masarap sa gabi, mahangin. :)

Ayos naman ako… I also have my long runs in Merville, its scheduled every Sunday, mga 8pm… this May nga lang, I’ll be out of town on most weekends… oo nga, masmahangin kapag gabi :) Actually, I’m following a training schedule I got from Runnersworld, pero syempre iba rin yung may coach ka to teach you stuff… When do you go sa ultra? parang gusto ko sumama just to get a feel of it and maybe that can help me decide if I should get a coach nga…
