To infinity and beyond! - Mizuno Infity Race

As I was going through the different blogs, yahoogroups, and other running sites, I can’t help but notice that people really have very strong words against the Race organizers of the Mizuno Infinity Race. A lot of people were really peeved over the whole NO WATER issue.Well, I’d have to admit, it was really bad, but then again… in line with this blog’s objective of trying to promote a positive attitude, let’s see how we can take a more positive look at the whole issue.

  1. The runners realized that they could run without water.
  2. People were pushed to their limits.
  3.  They got out of the heat ASAP (to look for water).
  4. They now have something to talk about. (ie. Did you hear about what happened at the Mizuno race?!)
  5. They now have a memorable experience to tell other people about. (ie. Unimaginable! I lasted running 5km (or 10km, or 15km) without water!)

Are there other nice things you can possibly think of about the Mizuno InfinityRace? Post them here :)
Looking at my “about me” page… the Mizuno Infinity Run really exemplified my statement…“Whatever route you take and no matter how long it would take you, you will always end up there.” Considering that there were people who got lost, who ended up running longer or what… there is one thing that is common to all the runners… At least they crossed that finished line. I think that’s what matters in any race, good or not, well-organized or not, with water or without.

Common people… Start making that change :D

  1. hello eric,

nice way of looking at things. if i weren’t with my friends and my brother i would’ve been sorely bitching about the race. but you are right — it was a blessing in disguise for me. i was one of them who got lost. 2-2.5k ata ang nasayang kong distance. but come to think of it hindi sayang, kasi ibig sabihin nun, i can go beyond my usual 10k. :)
    welcome to h@ppy feet!
